Overall I thought Governor Palin more than held her own. The only really cringe worth moments were her answers to Gibson’s questions on the so called Bush Doctrine and Pakistan. She clearly didn’t know what Gibson meant by the Bush Doctrine and couldn’t answer the Pakistan question with anything more than platitudes about Islamic terrorism.
That said I’m not sure many governors could have handled those questions any better… They’re not issues governors think about very often. Their focus is largely on domestic policy issues.
One final comment… I was disappointed in the way Gibson handled himself, he was patronizing and even contemptuous at times. I expected much better from him.
Michelle Malkin and Allahpundit have more here, here and here.
Update: Kristen Powers has a great peice in the New York Post. In it she she does an excellent job of pointing out some of Charlie Gibson’s lies, distortions and falsehoods.
