I finished First Daughter by Eric Van Lustbader a couple of weeks ago… The plot revolves around the kidnapping of the President Elects daughter and the investigation to find her before the inauguration. The basic story had a lot of potential but was ultimately ruined by a what I thought was a heavy undercurrent of anti-religious bigotry that runs throughout the book… I’m not sure if it was the author trying to insert his personal views into the story or if it was just a plot device. Either way it ruined what could have been a good read.
I’m currently reading Dark Horse by Ralph Reed… The book is political thriller about a third party run for presidency. I’m about three quarters of the way through it, it’s an excellent read.
